“Enjoy the cool sounds on a hot summer night. Best of all, it is free. Summerfest is a family friendly event! The event will include free kids' activities, a variety of food trucks, a market with local artisans and neighborhood businesses, and more. Folding chairs will be onsite, but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs. Pets must be on a leash per the City of Albuquerque Heart Ordinance. This year's headliner is George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton revolutionized R&B during the '70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-'60s acid heroes: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine ruled black music during the '70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles (including three numbecaption:r ones) and recording three platinum albums.”
